The rules of Swamp Soccer differ significantly from traditional football, and the unique playing field—a swamp—makes the game a completely different experience. Success in Swamp Soccer doesn’t necessarily require football skills, although they can certainly be an advantage.
The competition for the Swamp Soccer World Championship is fierce, but some teams take a more laid-back approach to the game. The Swamp Soccer World Championships feel like a big party in the heart of Kainuu’s wilderness: the event offers additional activities, food stalls, a licensed bar area, free saunas, and even a chance to take a dip in a swamp pond. Plus, a DJ keeps the music flowing throughout the tournament.
